03.11 I Webinar How can we move from the constant pursuit of efficiency towards better quality of work?

There is a lot of discussion in working life today about efficiency and how technology can help us do more, faster. But what if the next leap in productivity comes from being able to do better work?

In this webinar, together with Lotta Merisaari, we explore how to build organisations that can continually renew themselves while also giving people the conditions to do high-quality work and perform well.

Among other things, we will consider:

  • What could we do to free up people’s time for thinking and what matters most?

  • How do work structures, interruptions and cognitive load affect work quality and performance?

  • Where do the energy and ambition to do our work well come from?

  • How can we design work in which renewal, learning and good performance support one another?

  • How can we maintain our cognitive and psychological performance at work when interruptions, information overload, constant task-switching and new technologies challenge our thinking?

Lotta Merisaari is a mental performance coach and brain wellbeing specialist. Her work combines mental strength and psychological skills with an understanding of how the brain functions. Alertness, recovery and the environment are important parts of this whole, but ultimately it is about how these show up in everyday life and how we can manage our own actions in ways that work for us.

In the webinar, we outline Quality of Work thinking and look for practical ways to move from optimising efficiency towards better work quality and sustainable performance.

The webinar examines concentration from three perspectives: managing the mind, alertness and the environment.

We are not promising a single extra hour for increasing efficiency – but better, higher-quality work! Join us and listen in!

How do you lead an organisation’s capacity for renewal?

01.10 I Webinar How do you lead an organisation’s capacity for renewal?

Many organisations have already identified their strategic capabilities and defined their future skills needs. But what happens next?

Who owns capability development? How do we ensure that capabilities do not remain on strategy slides or become isolated development projects? What structures, management practices and shared rhythm are needed for an organisation to learn, change its ways of working and renew itself continuously?

This question is particularly timely. AI and a rapidly changing operating environment are challenging organisations to renew themselves in ways that require more than adopting new technology or developing skills. They need the ability to notice changes, learn from experience and experimentation, make choices and embed learning in their operations. The capacity for renewal therefore arises not only from what an organisation knows, but also from how it learns and renews its skills and operations.

In this webinar, Kuulas & Co’s Elina Pihlantie and DNA Learning & Development Lead Ann-Mari Mikander explore what should happen after strategic capabilities have been defined and goals set.

We examine learning infrastructure and learning management from a practical perspective: how do we connect strategic capabilities, learning, leadership and everyday work?

Who is ultimately responsible for capability development? And what structures help an organisation notice changes, learn from them and change direction quickly enough?

During the webinar, Elina and Ann-Mari share their experiences of this area and consider what kind of leadership and learning infrastructure makes continuous renewal a shared organisational capability.

Among other things, we will seek answers to:

  • what should happen after strategic capabilities have been identified

  • who owns capabilities and their development

  • what structures and management practices continuous learning and renewal require, and how to connect them to everyday work
